Alright well first thing is DO YOUR BLOGS ON TIME AND LISTEN TO MRS. DUKE!!!! Those are like the golden rules. Im not gonna lie the class is a lot of work and it’s hard but if you pay attention and do your work there won’t be any trouble! Now i was the kind of student that kept quiet but did most of his work and had a B to low B. This isn’t the best idea! I did most of my work but most of it was last minute and wasn’t the best of quality and wasn’t the easiest! i spent a lot of late nites writing papers last minute and it kind of kicked my butt. Ms. Duke really makes things fun and if you don’t screw around then it will be loads of fun and you won’t be dumped with a lot of work! when i said do ur blogs on time that goes with all assignments, it’s so awesome to do ur work and then know it’s all done and you don’t have to freak out about having it done on time or late credit! Blogs are also probably the most essential thing of her class, they have saved my grade quite a few times so do them and do them well!
Next is probably the most important, listen to Mrs. Duke!! she is really a nice person and later on in the year she is really a teacher u look forward to going to! but if you did what my class did and cut up a lot and get off topic then you won’t have a good time. My class was crude and took advantage of her freeness and funness and ended up giving us more work and a harder time!
The books you read in class are really good and interesting. In my previous english classes i never understood the themes behind the stories and Mrs. Duke really helps u understand them and you have more freedom to contradict ideas and ask many questions. Reading is another extremely important thing to do, if you don’t then you can’t follow in class and you get behind! Now i read all my books cuz i found them interesting! now something that i found helpful was to read the book and take good notes cuz you can go back and look at them before a test.
As long as you do as your told then you will be fine, read, blog, and do your work on time and you succeed in class and don’t cut up in class! U may have heard things about her like she eats babies but it’s not true, her class is really fun if you have an open mind. So have fun and enjoy yourself the class isn’t that hard and it works out if you actually do your work so don’t screw around! Good luck and welcome to Junior Year!

So you get to see more of the connection to hamlet in this scene. they are on the boat to go to england like in hamlet and Ros and Guil are chilling in the front try to remember how they got there! i believe that they might have some sort of retardation or amnesia since they keep for getting where they are and why they are there and their names. They read the kings letter and are immensely distraught over what they read and you see who is a true friend to hamlet and who is not!
In the previous scene you see the variation between the two when hamlet has polonius’s body on stage during the darkness. You also see hamlet being a trickster and trying to escape by tricking ros and guil and dishonoring Claudius in the act! You once again hear the tragedians in the background out of no relevance! This section there is a lot going on and quite a bit confusion, to hamlet, ros, and guil the truth is reveled about that king and they see what is happening with the kings plot!

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead’s readin showed a lot on their relationship. They are best of friends and have little quarrels over arbitrary things such as which side a coin lands on. In this reading their was a part where they wanted to lick each others fingers or toes and i thought that was very strange and they said that someone might come in so that kind of says that they might be homosexual, ones that haven’t come out yet. They also go on a rant about hamlet’s comment of he’s only mad when a wind blows a certain way and they try to deduct which way that is and take it way to literally.
You see the two books connect again with the players and polonius but then it quickly goes back to Ros and Guil’s nonsense and them talking to the players. The players go on to complain about how they left them and didn’t let them serve their purpose as actors. they seem to do what they have done earlier to the player, they are talking and he is trying to go but they wont let him and keep bringing him back. This section was a bit boring and hard to follow but once you read it a couple of times u can get it.

- The king and Polonius set a trap to try to find the root of Hamlets anger and he was contemplating this on his walk and saw Ophelia.
- Ophelia, the King, and Polonius were his audience and then the people in the audience to get a feel of how he is feeling.
- To give the audience a sense of what is going on and how he is feeling!
- ?
- a lot of imagery, “the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”
- the flesh is heir to—‘tisa consummation
P.S. i did my notes in my book!

This part of the play is a bit different! i believe it was a bit easier to follow and you saw a little more into how things were done during this time. It is kind of a nice thing that claudius and gertrude are concerned with hamlet and contract Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to see what is bothering him. I believe that Gertrude is genuinely worried about hamlet and is censer when she ask them to figure out what is wrong and i think Claudius is just trying to please his new wife.
Another thing i think is true is that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and gamblers and a bit crazy. They bet on trivial things like with the players, they betted for the sake of betting. They also seem quite juvenil in that they joke around a lot and throw their money away. I wasn’t quite sure the point of the game, they were more intrigued with asking themselves the questions as to actually asking hamlet and figuring out what was wrong.

I have to say this was interesting. i difficulty following this especially when it got to the players, i wasn’t sure what the point of them showing up was and what they did wasn’t clear. What started me off confused was them just flipping coins and see wether it was heads or tails, now this is just a game of probability but why, why are they playing this? and also why do they each have a giant bag of coins?
the second part was the band, they seemed quite random too me. and the boy with the cart who had props was weird. The band didn’t even play anything for them and that didn’t make sense. and then they started flipping coins with the band and that was kind of stupid. So far this play is strange and i don’t quite follow, they have a very close relationship but the thing is stupid.

So my paper is on how religion affected the heroic journey in beowulf! this paper is quite different for me in that i am just going to type it and not set out a formula as much as i usually try to do! it’s being kind of a slow start for me but it’s going. i had a good bit of trouble trying to figure out a topic but i knew i wanted it to be something to do with religion.
I started off with my idea being how did religion present itself differently between the canterbury tales and beowulf. that was a very broad idea and Mrs. Duke helped me by suggesting what i have now! I think this is going to be a good paper but a toughy, just once i get more into it i think ill be able to roll through it! so cya!

Davis, i have to say this was one of my favorite math teachers of all time. This was the first week without him and it was kind of sad! Well Mrs. Goodner is a great teacher but she’s not Mr. Davis. But anyways, this week was pretty relaxed and that was nice! this weekend was quite chill as well, on friday i went and hung out with my friend joey and we are in the process of building a little go kart kind of thing and we worked on that and had jambalaya for dinner. and after we watched “jackass the movie” which is pretty funny! On saturday i got to sleep in but then had to go and mow my neighbors lawn and my mother and I built a garden which turned out great! and the rest of the day i was lazy and watched tv!
Well i was able to sleep late again on Sunday and then i worked on the garden with my mother some more and finished planting! We have a jalepeno, two bell peppers, 3 tomatoes, some beans, and some different herbs, and my favorite a raspberry tree all planted! we are very excited and are very hopeful of the garden. i spent the rest of my afternoon working on school work and i went to georges for dinner and had an awesome bacon cheeseburger! So till next week!!
